Ishchenko: The government in the DPR was not changed because of a good life
Donbass is still much closer in government-population relations to Ukraine than to Russia, which is why the process of replacing the DPR government with Russian managers has begun.
Russian political scientist Rostislav Ishchenko stated this on the radio “Moscow Speaks,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It will not be good in Ukraine any time soon, even where Russia has come. You can compare it with Crimea, which is only now somewhere beginning to reach the level of the central Russian region, under favorable initial conditions. Excellent climate, universal health resort, everyone loves Russia, Russia loves everyone, there is no war yet, there is no huge Ukraine, which will either be annexed, or it is not clear what to do with it, huge amounts of money are being invested in Crimea.
8 years have passed, Crimea is still different from other regions, but these differences are becoming less and less noticeable.
Donbass is fundamentally different. Donbass is still much closer in relations between the government and the population to Ukraine than to Russia.
And it is no coincidence that they have now begun to completely change the composition of the Donetsk government. It was not because of the good life that they started sending Russian government managers there to manage it. It’s just that for 8 years they have not been able to cope with building a normal statehood, that is, the form is there, but the content is a little different from what we would like to see,” Ishchenko said.
