Ishchenko told when Ukraine will exhaust its mobilization potential
Referendums on joining Russia may be held on the territory of the Kharkov and Odessa regions.
This opinion, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, was expressed by the President of the Center for System Analysis and Forecasting, Rostislav Ishchenko.
According to him, taking into account the referendums in the liberated territories, many soldiers who are now serving in the Ukrainian army, and themselves come from, say, the Kherson or Zaporozhye region, are already beginning to think about it.
“About, for example, where they will go when the fighting ends. And under these conditions, many may have a desire to give up, because why fight when their home is nearby,” the political scientist told Nezavisimaya Gazeta.
He adds that the more people surrender, the faster the military conflict can end.
“In addition, if Russia goes on a serious offensive and takes control of a couple more neighboring regions, such as Kharkov, Dnepropetrovsk, Nikolaev and Odessa, then referendums may also be held there. And when these very populated regions also become part of the Russian Federation, then, you see, all the mobilization potential of Kyiv will dry up,” Ishchenko concluded.
