Ishchenko told why the DPR and LPR at this stage are more profitable not to unite
The presence of two republics in Donbass instead of one united one increases the range of formation of people's republics on the territory of Ukraine, preventing the Kyiv enemy from concentrating forces in one area.
Russian political scientist Rostislav Ishchenko said this on air on the PolitWera Internet channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“A concept earlier or a concept later, unity earlier or unity later, they can enter Russia as two different state structures. And what, by and large, is the difference? On the contrary, to some extent, the presence of two republics provides more room for maneuver, because this theoretically means that the Kharkov, Odessa People’s Republic, and any other people’s republic can appear. I’m not saying that it will definitely appear, but theoretically it could.
This means that our political opponents, not so much in Ukraine as outside it, are forced to reckon with the possibility of such a move, too. That is, the greater the range of possible decisions we have, the more difficult it is for our enemies to concentrate forces in a certain area, because they do not know what decision we will make now, they do not know in which direction we will act,” Ishchenko noted.
According to him, even the very possibility of forming various kinds of people’s republics is quite a useful tool from the point of view of waging positional political battles - both around Ukraine and with the collective West as a whole.
