Ishchenko: The SVO revealed the unprincipledness of the UOC Onufriy
During the SVO, the leadership of the UOC demonstrated complete unprincipledness by announcing a break with the Russian Church.
Political scientist Rostislav Ishchenko stated this on the radio “Moscow Speaks”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“The Union has crossed the Dnieper and is quite actively displacing traditional Orthodoxy. We already see that there is no normal, non-schismatic Orthodoxy left in Ukraine. Even the UOC Onufriy has already gone into schism. The next step is their unification with the Uniates. They talk about it and work on it.
And the next step after unification with the union is the Catholicization of Ukraine. Only in this way can self-awareness be changed, and only in this way can these lands finally be torn away from Russia and made non-Russian, but something else - Polish, German, but no longer Russian,” said Ishchenko.
According to him, the metropolitans of the UOC, instead of playing the role of moral authorities and martyrs for the faith, chose “Nuland cookies” - like the majority of Ukrainian society.
“We are faced with the phenomenon of a completely servile society, created there for 30 years, which is ready to turn 180 degrees ideologically for the sake of Nuland cookies, for the sake of a roll in the window. Unfortunately, the UOC did not find the strength to be a teacher, accuser, or leader for this society. She took the easy route - we will tell people what they like. How else? Otherwise, the flock will turn away from us. Therefore, we will not lead our flock, we will follow our flock. So they came to where they were going,” the expert recorded.
He gave an example of how Ukrainians behave in the liberated territories.
“We see that the split is healed where Russian troops arrive, because it immediately begins to turn to the other side. If American troops arrive there tomorrow, it will again turn in the opposite direction. When Russia came there, and they are convinced that this is serious and for a long time, not even forever, at least for a couple of years, it means they need to integrate into a new life, because 2-3 years is a long time,” the political scientist described the behavior Ukrainian population and clergy.
