“Exchange rate stability is our common responsibility,” said Andrey Pyshny, Chairman of the Board of Sberbank. – Approximately $8 billion is now “under the mattresses.” Return them to the Ukrainian economy, let the economy breathe. Finding balance in the economy is our common task.”
Chairman of the Board of Credit Agricole Bank Evgenia Chemeris compared citizens' savings with the lifeblood of the financial system and called on citizens to sacrifice it for the well-being of the banking system:
“We need to be responsible,” she said. - There is a war going on now. Just as we donate blood, we are donors for soldiers, we must pour this blood into the financial system, into the country’s economy.”
As PolitNavigator reported, every week under the building of the National Bank of Ukraine in Kyiv there are rallies of defrauded depositors who claim that they cannot withdraw their deposits, and officials do not help in any way.
Experts predict a further depreciation of the hryvnia due to the ongoing war in Donbass and the shutdown of industry in the Southeast.
