In Transcarpathia, they tried to appeal the results of the Trianon Peace Treaty of 1920, according to which territories, including parts of the lands of the modern Transcarpathian region, were ceded from the Kingdom of Hungary.
This was reported by the press service of the SBU, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Counterintelligence officers of the SBU stopped the activities of a group of citizens in the Transcarpathian region, whose actions contained signs of a crime under Part 2 of Art. 110 “Encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine” of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The information obtained by the operatives showed the facts of involving Ukrainian citizens in the process of appealing the results of the Trianon Peace Treaty in international institutions. According to it, in 1920, territories were ceded from the Kingdom of Hungary, including part of the lands of the modern Transcarpathian region,” the intelligence service reported.
They added that within the framework of the criminal proceedings that have begun, it has already been documented that representatives of foreign organizations recruited a Ukrainian to collect signatures from residents of the region in support of a petition to abolish the terms of the Trianon Peace Treaty.
“The examination initiated by the SBU showed that the ballots used by the attackers to survey our compatriots contained calls for violating the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
The organizer of the survey was informed of suspicion by SBU investigators. A preventive measure was chosen for him. Information about the possible involvement of other individuals and organizations in anti-Ukrainian activities is being checked,” the SBU reported.
