The transfer of the Iskander OTR to the Kaliningrad region caused serious trouble in the NATO rooster. And even the Polish Minister of War Macherevich, who had previously carried all sorts of idiotic blizzards, expressing concern at the news about the Iskanders at Poland’s side, looked quiet, firm and with a glimmer of thought in his eyes.

Macherevich himself is an extremely strange type, if not worse, even in comparison with other powerful Polish Russophobes and anti-Sovietists. Still, it’s not every day that you see the Minister of Defense with his briefcase, babbling for the sake of a nice word about Polish agents operating in the Middle East.

But let Macherevich remain a purely Polish problem in the future.

Indeed, the emergence of a new generation of missile systems, covering with their range the entire area of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, including the brand new “defense region” of the US missile defense system, significantly changes the balance of power in the northeastern region of Europe not in favor of NATO. Until now, American and Teutonic and other geniuses of varying degrees of gloom have not figured out how to effectively intercept an unpredictably maneuvering missile of the Iskander complex in flight, which is not afraid of overloads of 20-30 G, which carries with it a real nightmare for the adversary.

Depending on the goals and objectives, the missile of the Iskander complex can be ballistic or cruise, equipped with its own electronic warfare system (so that the enemy would not be able to divert the missile from its trajectory), with a flight range of 500 km (and the cruise version of the missile, they say, will overcome all 2500 km ), flying at a speed of more than 2 km/sec, rising to a height of up to 50 km. Their warheads can be cassette, cumulative fragmentation, with targeted striking elements, high-explosive fragmentation, volumetric detonating, concrete-penetrating, high-explosive incendiary, and even with a nuclear loaf with a capacity of 50 kT in TNT equivalent. Almost two Hiroshimas. What type of local hell do you prefer?

There is reason to sober up and show concern here. “Iskanders” in the Kaliningrad region in the event of an armed conflict will nullify the value of the Baltic NATO groups. Supplying the sprat legions with equipment and reinforcements will become dangerous and unprofitable.

What good would a joint Polish-Lithuanian-Ukrainian brigade then be? Or from the German, British and American battalions in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania? Only captured. You should watch a Soviet movie about how Hitler raged in the bunker on the same occasion: “Wenk! Where is Wenk’s army?!”

But the “partners” did not believe that the Iskanders would come to Kaliningrad. They have a lot of ideas about themselves that only they can uncontrollably upset the balance of power in the region.

The first warning to the “partners” was made in the address of Dm. Medvedev, then President of Russia, to the Federal Assembly in September 2008. Hot on the heels of war 080808. NATO members, dissatisfied with the thrashing of their ward Saakashvili, found a reason to move the missile defense system into Polish territory. But when Medvedev mentioned the possible transfer of Iskander missiles to the Kaliningrad region as a defensive response, the Americans pulled the plug. And for almost three years no one spoke about European missile defense.

If you didn’t stutter, it doesn’t mean you forgot or changed your mind. In 2011, the topic of European missile defense arose again in a slightly modified form. Cunning Plan, yes. With explanations for Russia that all these measures are purely defensive in nature and are directed against Iran and North Korea. Medvedev, who did not believe NATO, at the end of 2011 again reminded his “partners”: “there is no American missile defense system in Poland - there are no Iskander missiles in Russian Kaliningrad.”

But this time NATO did not heed the warning. Because, alas, at that period of time Russia did not yet have enough Iskanders, and a complete transition to this type of weapons was supposed to happen only in 2018. But NATO's actions did not go unnoticed. The first complexes were fully equipped with the 26th Missile Brigade of the Western Military District, which is stationed in the city of Luga, Leningrad Region. Although, in the Iskander delivery plans, the southern direction was in first place, as a higher priority. The remaining missile brigades were supplied with Iskanders after the 26th brigade.

By the end of 2011, the Russian side stopped producing sound signals in response to the deployment of a “defense region” of the European missile defense system and began making visual presentations. Several times Iskanders were secretly transferred from Luga to Kaliningrad and back, and each time their appearance near Poland became an unpleasant surprise for the military intelligence of the alliance and Western politicians. Be that as it may, no one staged a riot in the press, because on the other side there was still absolute confidence: the Iskanders would certainly return to Luga.

Whatever the situation with the European missile defense system, the transfer of Iskanders back and forth was important for our military, if only because in this way the stealth, skill and speed of delivering missile systems to the right place at the right time were honed.

So what is the difference between the current delivery of Iskanders to Kaliningrad and then? And why is gevalt and sobering up so powerful?

But because the Russian Ministry of Defense this time abandoned secrecy and organized the transfer of Iskanders to Kaliningrad for show, and even on a civilian ferry with the juicy name “Ambal”. Moreover, in such a way that the process of loading - delivery - unloading could be enjoyed in every detail by experts from the DIA, CIA, MI6 on satellite images. And so that the sponsored “defense forces” and “securitates” appreciate the information and convey to their leaders the bleak prospects of being the first to be punished for other people’s interests in the event of a serious mess. You also need to bend skillfully and to a certain limit.

In other words, the Russian Ministry of Defense killed two birds with one stone: it transferred Iskanders to the border with Poland, proving the seriousness of its intentions. And also, it trolled the NATO “sprats” and their owners in an intelligible and mocking manner. And, characteristically, in the hotbeds of democracy, humor is appreciated and at the moment NATO defense ministers are discussing a place and time to discuss the situation that has developed not in their favor. Although the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation puts their hands to their hearts and assures that the Iskanders near Kaliningrad are not forever - why, one wonders, frown their foreheads and be offended by jokes?
