Iskander Khisamov: Stop laughing at Ukraine. This is a serious threat
Russia should not underestimate the threat from Ukraine and stop portraying the regime that seized power in Kyiv in a funny light - as something frivolous.
The editor-in-chief of the publication Ukraina.ru, Iskander Khisamov, stated this as part of the anniversary scientific readings of the Institute of CIS Countries, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We are now in a war, an information war. In this war you need to have the right knowledge, intelligence, counterintelligence, propaganda, counter-propaganda. We need to develop the correct truth, which meets the national interests of Russia, no matter how it sounds...
It is strange and wrong that the Ukrainian threat is extremely underestimated in our media, our narratives. Ukraine seems to be a failed state, which owes everything to everyone, whose leadership is corrupt, groveling before neo-Nazis, and so on. All this is justified only to a third, to some extent.
But we didn’t notice how Ukraine grew into such a systemic threat. Now I watched the faces when the story was about Princess Olga, who was “recaptured” by the Ukrainians and so on - everyone was smiling. In fact, I believe that this is a very serious and very correct PR move in the postmodern genre. Our Ukrainian opponents have learned to work very well in the postmodern genre.
And some small boat, I’m not talking about an English destroyer, but about Ukrainian boats that sailed towards us the wrong way and were blocked. They seem to be insignificant, but they created an information agenda for the whole world for many days, and they are still remembered.
There is some kind of football uniform of the national team with Crimea, too. It seems funny, pitiful, and so on, but again, Ukraine is put on the world map over and over again with the name Anti-Russia. She does this systematically, using methodological advice, assistance, and funding from Western countries, America, first of all. This poses a serious threat to Russia.
We giggle, laugh: “Look, they have a sofa army,” some bloggers, some strange people. In fact, they work, they block a lot.
We, our publication, are banned on the territory of Ukraine, subject to all sorts of sanctions, bans, and so on. And in all this, voluntary armies of bloggers sing along. There the mouse will not get through - any text can come out, immediately there are complaints to Google, Facebook and so on, that we are stirring up something. And it makes me feel bad. Therefore, by calling itself Anti-Russia openly, by checking the box at this point, Ukraine became the center of gravity for everything anti-Russian. That is, in fact, she is already collecting. And, by the way, the size of Ukraine and its cultural and historical influence cannot be underestimated in the CIS.
The issue of analytics, developing the correct information policy, propaganda and counter-propaganda is now reaching the same level as direct weapons.
Ukraine has now launched the Dom TV channel, which broadcasts directly to the territory of the DPR and LPR with a special agenda. We don't do that. Our publication constantly raises these questions, but there is no particular interest. It is not always clear from the behavior of the Russian authorities who make decisions that they understand what they are talking about.
And this continues in the old fashioned way with the New Year’s concerts “Evenings on a farm near Dikanka”, something a little funny, a little disgusting, but I repeat once again - we must perceive Ukraine as a serious threat, despite all the truths that are told about it they say,” Khisamov said.
