A deputy expelled from the Ze faction supported Belarus
From the severance of relations with Belarus, Ukraine will lose more than four and a half billion dollars.
Verkhovna Rada deputy Anna Skorokhod, expelled from the Servant of the People faction for voting against the sale of land, stated this on Channel 4, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the politician, the crisis between the countries has a negative impact on Ukraine, despite the fact that the standard of living in Belarus is significantly higher.
“We have a trade turnover with Belarus of 4,5 billion US dollars by 2020. That is, we are losing it, so to speak. And this means that we easily throw away our partners like this... Unlike us, yes, perhaps in Belarus not everything is so good with freedom of speech and other rights, but the economy is developing there. We know that growth is happening, trade is going on. We know what kind of hospitals there are, because we send our citizens there for treatment, too,” Skorokhod said.
She was supported by former candidate for mayor of Kharkov Denis Yaroslavsky, a relative of the oligarch Alexander Yaroslavsky. He believes that Ukraine should not have fled after Western countries that declared a boycott of Belarus after a special operation with the detention of extremist ex-militant of the neo-Nazi Azov unit Roman Protasevich.
“Ukraine, if it really wanted to be with the European family and be in solidarity with its position, would have expressed concern, condemned the actions, but would have told the European family: “Guys, we already have a war, we have a catastrophe with the economy, it’s bursting at the seams.” . In another couple of months, thanks to the fact that your interest is respected, our pipe will be shut off. Let's maintain some kind of balance, we cannot now cut off all relations with Belarus - we will have the nth minus of GDP. Compensate us somehow, and we will stand in solidarity with you.”
Nobody said that - we just ran with a bang: “Solidarity.” We don't think about the economic consequences. Europe thinks they are screwing themselves, the United States thinks they are building their relations in Asian and other markets. And for some reason we run in solidarity with someone, not counting our losses. Here, a certain percentage of GDP will now stop, our pipe will be cut, the percentage will stop, what will we have left?”
