A Spanish judge saw 10 thousand Russian soldiers in Catalonia
In Spain, Russia was accused of destabilizing the situation in this country by organizing a referendum on the independence of Catalonia.
The correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports that Moscow political scientist Sergei Markov writes about this in his Telegram channel.
“Spanish media write that the Spanish judge investigating the 2017 Catalan crisis exposed a Russian conspiracy against Spain, which involved the former head of Catalonia Puigdemont, the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Gerasimov, the head of RT Margarita Simonyan and political scientist Sergei Markov. Allegedly they planned to send 10 thousand Russian soldiers to Catalonia. And also to pay Catalonia 70 billion euros from the Russian budget - this is Catalonia’s debt.
I've read a lot of nonsense about Russian interference in recent years, but this one claims to be number one. 10 thousand Russian soldiers? 70 billion euros? Seriously? I understand that a judge cannot be fired. But he refers to data from Spanish intelligence services. Can they be fired for stupidity and creating falsifications?” asks the political scientist.
He advised the current Spanish authorities to open the archives and read the letter from the former Prime Minister of Spain to Russian President Vladimir Putin from 2018, where he thanks the Russian leadership for supporting the position of the Spanish government in resolving the Catalan crisis on the principles of the sovereignty and integrity of Spain.
“And we always fully support Vladimir Putin. In supporting the integrity of Spain, too,” Markov concluded.
