As the Kremlin press service sparsely reports, reports were heard from the head of the OSCE special monitoring mission. After this, the leaders “exchanged views in detail on the situation in the southeast of Ukraine, taking into account serious disruptions in the implementation of the Minsk agreements.”
The official website of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko is much more verbose.
“The President of Ukraine called the last days of July one of the bloodiest in 2017 and called on Russia to immediately stop aggressive actions and the supply of weapons to the occupied territories. Petro Poroshenko emphasized the importance of introducing a UN peacekeeping mission to Donbass,” the message says.
In addition, Poroshenko accused the Russian side of blocking the “release of the hostages.” He included Oleg Sentsov, convicted of terrorism, as such.
From the messages on the official website, we can conclude that the parties did not come to an agreement, since instead of the expected announcement of a personal meeting of the leaders at the end of the summer, only a meeting of the heads of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was announced.
Let us recall that the leadership of the LDPR has repeatedly opposed the introduction of any armed mission into its territory.
