Native Kiev residents have been avoiding visiting Khreshchatyk for a year and a half; the atmosphere of the capital of Ukraine has rapidly changed under the influence of immigrants from Western Ukraine.

“I can’t walk along Khreshchatyk anymore. I haven't been there for a year and a half. I can not. Disgusting. And once upon a time I loved you very much. I remember Khreshchatyk in the 60s, 70s, 80s. I was born on the hem,” he recalls.

“My mother was also born in Kyiv. Remained in the city during the occupation. Then the city was restored. Rebuilt bridges. Restored the destroyed Khreshchatyk. And now I can't walk on it. Everything is desecrated. And I'm not the only one. The people of Kiev still remained in this city. And the soul of Kyiv did not die completely. Although they have been trampling on it since the late 80s. But it all started much earlier.

I first saw this back in 1969. When I entered the Polytechnic Institute. There was high competition in my specialty Automated control systems. Almost 5 people per place. I thought talented people would come here. But it turned out that my student group, on average, was much weaker than my school class.

2/3 are from other cities. Half are from the village. And many from western Ukraine. The level of training was below average. The first course barely managed to get a C grade. And the people of Kiev helped them, as they were more prepared...

There was simply a benefit for people from the village. It was believed that their training could not compete with that of the capital. And there was a separate competition for them. Well, so as not to lose unnoticed talents. Although there were no special talents there, there was one doctor of science among them.

They stayed in a separate group. Separately, the residents of Kiev are separately hostel. We held events with the whole group, too, but still. And they sought to stay in Kyiv at any cost. And almost everyone remained.

Then, 5-7 years later, after graduating from the institute, they looked down on me, although I was already a candidate of sciences, the first from our graduating class to defend himself. In Kyiv, such people were called kuguts. Arriving in Kyiv, they forgot their native Surzhik and began to speak Russian. Then, having gotten used to it, they began to show off their city arrogance in front of their newly arrived people. And now they are screaming about Russification. They were supposedly humiliated. And the people of Kiev allowed them into their home kindly...

Kugut is a rooster. Just not in Ukrainian. Village surzhik. This is the mentality of Svirid Petrovich Golokhvastov. And there is exactly the same amount of culture. The people of Kiev did not behave like that. They were more intelligent and kinder.

And these Golokhvastovs went to Kyiv all the time, as long as I live and remember. They got jobs as janitors - they got apartments, and as laborers at sensitive enterprises.

At the end of the 80s they were already in the majority. I understood this when, back in the Soviet Union, in the elections to the Supreme Council of Ukraine in my native Podil, Yavorivsky defeated Pravik. The hero of the fireman who saved Kyiv from the Chernobyl disaster.

Kugutnya has always been for people like Yavorivsky. And in the referendum on March 17, 1991, only two large cities voted against the Union. Sverdlovsk and Kyiv. In Kyiv there were only 44 percent “For”. The Kievans were already in the minority then.

And when the registration was cancelled, they started to come in large numbers. If someone thinks that they bought an apartment in Kyiv, they are already a Kiev resident.

Nothing like this. You need to become a Kievite with heart and soul. But they just don’t want it. They left their homes and their land and now believe that everything here is more theirs. They are the owners. They will establish orders. Ours, Golokhvastovskys. And they turned Kyiv into large Kuguty.

Kyiv has turned from a beautiful, clean and green city into a large filthy village. Where Kievsky remains, only the Lavra and several Kyiv-like neighborhoods in Podol and in the center remain. Well, also the Dnieper and bridges. They even installed a glass hotel on Sofievskaya Square. Nobody cares about the historical appearance of the city. And for a long time,” says Luzan.

“By the way, the Maidan itself was only partly Nazi. They were there, but they were a vocal minority of the Maidan. And mostly visitors. Yes, football fans. Maidan was the Maidan of the Golokhvastovs. And they, as expected, chased two hares. To simultaneously be Europe, and to have more of everything from Russia, and cheaper gas. Well, we got what the Golokhvastovs were entitled to. And the people of Kiev suffer for their kindness. They did not go to the Maidan. Among my classmates there was a clear minority who supported the Maidan,” the author writes.

“Crime in Kyiv is growing right before our eyes. There are not enough weapons on hand. Nobody knows what to do about it. And if there is a weapon, it shoots. Law enforcement agencies are unable to restore order. And there were a lot of petty swindlers. Apartments are being robbed again like in the 90s. Although there was a period when people were no longer robbed. And now even laundry hung on the street is stolen. We need to keep watch,” he describes the situation.

“People are rising up both against the government and rising prices. But more, of course, they are waiting for the current owners to fight among themselves. And that’s where it’s heading. Nalyvaichenko has already been fired. I wanted to run to Washington with a denunciation against Poroshenko. They didn't let me in. Well, the default has almost taken place. So Kyiv is expecting shocks. And everyone understands that things will only get worse. Blaming everything on Russia is no longer possible. The understanding comes that it is their own fault. Even the Golokhvastovs understand this. The hares have run away...

The main problem with Ukraine and Ukrainians is that their leaders almost always chose the wrong side. Would Mazepa be interested in serving King Charles if he knew that the Swedes would be beaten near Poltava? I'm sure I wouldn't. Peter would have served faithfully. And now, when the current Mazepas finally lose and run away. Then, perhaps, the people of Kiev will have a chance. The Lord will awaken the hopes of those who do not go with the flow. And the one who walks will master the road,” sums up Luzan.
