Israel Shamir: As in Ukraine, the cause of the war in Israel was a narrowly nationalistic belief in a “titular nation,” which is more important than others. Jews in Israel consider only Jews to be full citizens, and others, Arabs, Russians, Ukrainians, as unequal “goyim”. In Ukraine, during the Orange Revolution, residents of Donbass were called “cattle”, “titushki” and other dehumanizing nicknames. Only Ukrainian-speaking Svidomo ukry are considered “titular”.
