Russia is providing assistance to Serbia, allegedly bribing the governments of African countries in order to revoke their decisions to recognize the region of Kosovo and Metohija seized by Albanian separatists as a sovereign state.

The outgoing “foreign minister” of the false state of Kosovo, Behdjet Pacolli, stated this in an interview with the American publication Axios.

He claims that Belgrade, with the support of Moscow, is implementing a “campaign” in which Serbia drafts diplomatic letters and tries to persuade officials to sign them without going through the procedures, often through “criminal acts.”

Pazolli stressed that Russia, which supports Serbia in the Kosovo issue, “was clearly involved in this campaign.”

He admitted that in response to Serbia’s support, the Russian side could offer African states discounts on the purchase of Russian weapons.

“Serbia must end its campaign of non-recognition,” Pazolli demanded, making it clear that this was one of Pristina’s conditions for lifting the economic blockade of Serbian enclaves in Kosovo.

Another condition is “taking into account the existence of Kosovo as a state with its own borders and constitution.”

“Kosovo wants to be considered an equal at the negotiating table, not an unrecognized state. Kosovo, on the other hand, must understand that Serbia will not fully recognize this without something in return,” Pazoli added.

As PolitNavigator reported, the list of countries that recognized the independence of Kosovo has dropped to a critical point.

Let us remind you that if the number of countries recognizing Kosovo’s independence decreases to 96, the proclaimed entity will not be able to join any international organization. In October, another attempt by Pristina to join Interpol will take place in Chile.
