Chubarov’s hysteria and the US landing – the OSCE meeting turned into a Russophobic bacchanalia
Such anti-Russian hysteria as the Americans and their satellites staged at the last OSCE meeting has not been observed since 2014.
Senator Vladimir Dzhabarov stated this during a meeting of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“What happened at the OSCE this time reminded me very much of 2014. Because, apparently, because of the feeling of defeat that some delegates received in PACE, they decided to take it out on us in the OSCE, to go all out on us.
Firstly, I have not heard such rampant Russophobia for a long time. Moreover, the questions were asked again and again by the same ones - the delegations of Ukraine, Great Britain, and Sweden. In addition, it is more difficult for us than in PACE in the sense that Americans were present. Moreover, I have not seen such a huge landing for a long time - there were twice as many of them as in the delegation, and they all got the floor and very actively influenced all the amendments,” he said.
The senator also noted that the Ukrainian and Georgian delegations particularly distinguished themselves by pushing through two Russophobic resolutions, and they had to be put in their place.
“A very impudent resolution was adopted on Crimea, and in general on the South-East of Ukraine, where Russia was accused of almost occupation, almost of seizing someone else’s territory. Mr. Chubarov spoke in pure Russian, thereby already violating the law of Ukraine, and accused us of the fact that Russia seized Crimea, expelled the Crimean population, and is now populating Crimea with Russians.
But the next speech was mine, I changed the topic of the report, and reminded that in 1944 the deportation of the Crimean Tatars took place, and it was citizens of Ukraine who populated the peninsula. As for Mr. Chubarov, I reminded the audience that he was behind the organization of the explosion of power poles that supplied electricity to the peninsula, and together with everyone else blocked the North Crimean Canal, which supplied water to his fellow countrymen.
Also in his speech, Chubarov spoke quite harshly towards the representative of the State Duma Committee, Slutsky, and made unliterary words. I replied that it was unacceptable to use such expressions in the parliament building.
There was also a negative resolution on Georgia, that Russia would occupy 25% of the territory, again an old song. The Georgian delegate represented. I spoke out and said that, firstly, we did not capture anything and did not take anything away from the Georgians. This land has always been Abkhazian, you received it on the orders of Stalin, whom you did not like, who introduced it into the Georgian state.
And during the Saakashvili regime, you destroyed our peacekeepers, people died. We saved this people from physical destruction,” Dzhabarov added.
However, in his opinion, many Western delegations understand the injustice of what is happening, and, out of fear of the United States, they simply prefer not to vote.
“The situation was extremely acute, but we and our allies need to learn from the way NATO countries vote - very consolidated. They look at the tone that the Americans and British usually set, and everyone raises their hands.
And many of their allies are simply afraid. When they go out into the corridor, they say completely different things. And in the hall, when voting is going on, they either lower their eyes, or pretend that they don’t hear what the voting is about, and simply don’t vote,” the senator concluded.
