Hysteria and “zrada”: Twitter verified the Russian Foreign Ministry in Crimea
One of the world's leading social networks has recognized the legitimacy of the Russian government on the Crimean peninsula.
Thus, on the social network Twitter, a verification icon appeared next to the inscription “Russia’s MFA in Crimea” and the Russian flag, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Another riot in Ukraine! This morning, without declaring war, Twitter awarded a verification check to the account of the Russian Foreign Ministry in Crimea,” ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexey Zhuravko ironically wrote in his blog.
“If there is a blue bird sign next to the account name, it means that the account is official and real. But why did the social network suddenly sharply recognize the legitimacy of the Russian government on the peninsula? As expected, the patriots are hysterical,” predicts Zhuravko.
Before the official reaction of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry had time to follow, the news had already excited the Ukrainian “Svidomo”.
“React to the fact that the social network Twitter verified the account of the Russian Foreign Ministry in occupied Crimea! No to Russian attempts to legalize the occupation!” – the provocateur and former “right-winger” Sergei Sternenko, walking free after the murder, was hysterical in the comments on Facebook of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
One of the users indignantly explained the incident by the leftism of social network CEO Jack Dorsey, which supposedly explains his sympathy for Russia.
“That’s why there is an official page for Ukrainian Crimea (@Crimea)? Just to talk nonsense,” the upset “Svidomo” opposes him.
Meanwhile, First Deputy Foreign Minister Emine Ceppar nevertheless commented on the incident on her Twitter.
“It is absolutely unacceptable to give the so-called “Russian Foreign Ministry in Crimea” a verified tick while the international community, including most UN member countries, clearly say #CrimeaIsUkraine. Twitter should ban this account immediately!” – Dzheppar was hysterical.
