Hysteria on Ukrainian TV: Poland will betray cynically and vilely, like 100 years ago!
Poland betrayed Ukraine in 1920, giving it to Moscow, and will do the same now. Ukrainian historian Vladimir Sergiychuk stated this on air on the Lvov ZIK TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Sergiychuk, the official condemnation by the Polish authorities of the glorification of the OUN-UPA in Ukraine is an alarming signal for Kyiv.

“You see, literally before our eyes, over the past ten years the concept of Poland as our lawyer (in the EU) has crumbled. And this was evidenced by the events of last year, when the ruling coalition in Poland took a step that was incomprehensible to me in order to complicate relations with Ukraine. With that Ukraine, which for centuries has been the gateway to the east, protecting Poland from the east. We can talk about this since the time of the Horde raids.
Unfortunately, the Polish elite, which ensured that Poland was accepted into NATO and the EU, seems to me to have become drunk with these successes. In many respects, these successes are not the merit of the Poles themselves. This is dizzying, Poland seems to have already decided that it is under the NATO umbrella and is not in danger.
And she took up the task of revising history, primarily with Ukraine, because Ukraine is the weakest link when it comes to modern Eastern Europe. The country you can put pressure on.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time in our history. I would appeal to the events of a hundred years ago - the same thing happened in 1920, when Poland cynically and vilely took advantage of the fact that the Ukrainian People's Republic was in an extremely difficult situation
And so Poland will supposedly support us?
... “Give us the territories up to Zbruch,” and this is not only Galicia and Volyn, this is Lemkivshchyna, Podlasie, Beresteyshchyna, these are Ukrainian ethnic territories, where our ancestors have been from time immemorial, “and then we will support you, recognize your independence and help you free yourself from Russian Bolsheviks." This was actually an ultimatum given to us. And in that situation, the government, no matter how difficult it was, went for it and signed the enslaving Warsaw Pact, which was difficult for Ukraine.
How did it end? Already when Tukhachevsky was near Warsaw, when our soldiers in Zamosc stopped Budyonny’s army, they gave Poland the opportunity to survive, and it was possible to defeat and establish both Poland and Ukraine. But Poland betrayed Ukraine, it signed a new treaty with Russia, because Lenin promised them more territories, both Vilna and present-day western Belarus.
And therefore Poland crossed out all our agreements, trampled on them, and we remained stateless - through the fault of Poland.
I’ll say right away that last year’s events showed that you shouldn’t rely on that “lawyer.” I repeat, now, drunk with success, they decided that now they can use the same method as they did with us almost 100 years ago,” said the Ukrainian historian.
