In the east of Ukraine, there has been an alarming increase in demand for an “anti-Maidan” position. Political scientist Vladimir Fesenko, who serves the administration of Petro Poroshenko, stated this during a press conference in Kyiv.
“The interregional ideological polarization that we see is truly threatening. This is already an ideological, value polarization,” he said, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“This is an almost openly pro-Russian, aggressive anti-Maidan position. This is a conflict. This is a bet on renewing the conflict that led to the tragic events of 2014,” Fesenko added.
According to him, since there is a demand for the pro-Russian line in the east, this is also dangerous.
