Hysteria in Kyiv: Trump will still smooth out relations with Russia
Donald Trump, who won the US elections, may smooth out relations with Russia, including on the issues of Crimea and South-East Ukraine, based on his consciousness as a pragmatic businessman. This is indirectly evidenced by the hysterical reaction of the Ukrainian establishment to the outcome of the presidential race in America.
This forecast was expressed to PolitNavigator by Russian radio host and analyst Armen Gasparyan.

“Trump’s victory came as a huge surprise to everyone. Remember the statements that Ukrainian politicians allowed themselves to make over the last six months, that they do not recognize him, that he is a nobody, and there is nothing to talk about with him.
We remember how Poroshenko was not worried, and it was enough for him to meet with Hillary Clinton, and the fact that Trump did not meet with him did not bother him at all.
And now the situation has changed - Trump is the President of the United States. He had a certain position outlined during the election campaign that it was necessary to recognize Crimea and change the situation in southeastern Ukraine, which, obviously, was tied to the position of the United States.
The coming weeks will show how well this will correspond to political realities. It will be interesting to see how the US presidential administration begins to take shape, but you need to understand that the Republicans now have amazing opportunities - a majority in Congress, the Senate, and now the president.
It seems to me that Trump will begin to implement some of his statements. Most likely, Crimea will be recognized as part of Russia and, most likely, attitudes towards the southeast of Ukraine will begin to change.
It is clear that everyone is absolutely tired of this story, which has been going on for three years. Trump is, first and foremost, a businessman. He is, from this point of view, a pragmatist, so I have a feeling that things will soon begin to change. It is impossible to be in a state of acute confrontation all the time.
The hysteria and screams that are heard today from the Ukrainian political establishment indicate that they have no illusions about this,” Gasparyan noted.
