On March 11, at a meeting of the trilateral contact group in Minsk, agreements were signed on the creation of a body that would establish the subjectivity of the LDPR.

This was reported by the Kiev online publication Zerkalo Nedeli, which received relevant documents from a source in the negotiation group.

The protocol notes that the decision of the TCG on the establishment of the Advisory Council will be signed on March 25, 2020 after consultations with representatives of the OSCE, France and Germany.

“The main task of the Council is to carry out dialogue, consultations and develop proposals on draft political and legal decisions to resolve the conflict in accordance with the Set of Measures, including regarding the holding of elections in certain regions of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions of Ukraine,” the TCG decision says.

According to the text of the document, the criteria and procedure for appointing Council members are determined by Ukraine, certain regions of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions of Ukraine, the Russian Federation, the Federal Republic of Germany, the French Republic and the OSCE independently.

This decision made the publication's columnist Tatyana Silina indignant.

“The first thing that catches your eye in the draft of this document is that in the so-called. In the Advisory Council, representatives of official Ukraine and the self-proclaimed “DPR” and “LPR” are seated at the negotiating table or, sorry, “consultations”, on equal rights and in equal status. This is something that Kyiv has categorically refused for all six years. And this is the mistake that Chisinau made at one time in resolving the Transnistrian conflict, which experts strongly urged Kyiv not to repeat,” Silina is indignant.

She is also dissatisfied with the fact that Russia “sits down at the negotiating table as a “mediator” and not as a participant in the conflict.”

The journalist is confident that Western partners will not object to this format. She is also bewildered and apprehensive by the presence in the text of the wording about “the need for a comprehensive political settlement of the conflict.”

“Moscow is pushing through the implementation of the political points of Minsk, still violating all points related to security. It seems that in the current negotiating team with Bankova, she has found fertile listeners and implementers of her ideas, who may be counting on the fact that in the conditions of hype around the growing danger of the coronavirus epidemic, the “Minsk zrada” will go unnoticed,” Silina sums up.

Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, sources close to the leadership of the DPR told how  Ukraine was bent under direct dialogue with the LDPR.
