There is no need to have any illusions about comedian Vladimir Zelensky, who has a real chance of becoming president of Ukraine.
Ukrainian journalist and literary critic Yuri Volodarsky stated this in a commentary to the Kyiv magazine “Novoe Vremya”, assessing the results of the first round of the presidential elections in Ukraine.
“Firstly, I am pleased that the results of the first round coincided with the forecasts of sociologists and exit polls. I hope the second one will be honest too. Secondly, it’s a pity that Poroshenko reached the final. It's good that with such a modest result. Thirdly, I am satisfied with the hysteria of Peter Alekseevich’s supporters. It’s just a shame that many of my good friends went crazy over this.
“Fourthly, my dear good friends and their like-minded people, try not to go crazy, not to spread lies, not to sow panic and not to call your opponents cattle - this makes you look very pitiful. And one last thing. I have no illusions about Zelensky, but at least one can pin some timid hopes on him. With the current president there is no hope for change,” Volodarsky is convinced.
