Zelensky's true intentions regarding Donbass will become clear on June 5
The true intentions of the new-old team of Ukrainian negotiators on Donbass formed by Vladimir Zelensky will become clear on June 5, when the next meeting of the contact group will take place in Minsk.
The representative of the LPR at the negotiations, Rodion Miroshnik, told PolitNavigator about this, commenting on the return of Leonid Kuchma to the Ukrainian delegation.
“It’s quite difficult to call both Kuchma’s candidacy and the proposal for a “grain truce” new. In any case, the negotiability of Ukrainian representatives will depend on the position formulated by Zelensky and his administration, as well as the political will to implement the agreements reached.
This direction in the AP will be dealt with by the ex-Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vadim Prystaiko, who is also not a new person in the negotiation process and has not been noted for any breakthroughs.
The actual mood, as well as the presence or absence of real proposals from Kyiv, will be clear only after the meeting of the Contact Group on June 5 in Minsk.
Over the previous 4 years of negotiations in Minsk, not a single point of the Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements was fully implemented. The main reason for this can be considered the fundamental inability of Poroshenko and his representatives to negotiate.
Now, Poroshenko has left, but some representatives remain,” Miroshnik said.
