The information, which Chubarov himself was the first to report on social networks, is confirmed by the Kommersant newspaper, recalling that yesterday at a press conference in Simferopol, Crimean Prosecutor Natalya Poklonskaya spoke about the lifting of the ban on entry into the Russian Federation for Refat Chubarov, but at the same time, referring to secret of the investigation, refused to say whether the Mejlis member was expected to be arrested after arriving in Crimea.
At the same time, Kommersant’s source in the Kiev court of Simferopol said that Refat Chubarov was indeed chosen as a preventive measure in the form of arrest in early October.
“This was requested by the investigator in the case of “calls for violation of the territorial integrity of the Russian Federation,” which was opened against a Ukrainian deputy in May by the investigative department of the FSB Directorate for Crimea and Sevastopol,” the publication informs. – According to the investigation, on April 1, on the air of the Ukrainian “Channel Five” (owned by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko), Refat Chubarov, during an interview, called for the return of Crimea to Ukraine. “We just need to return Crimea. For us, the war will end only when Crimea is part of the Ukrainian state,” he said. In the case initiated under Part 2 of Art. 280.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (public calls for actions aimed at violating the territorial integrity of the Russian Federation, committed using the media), he faces five years in prison.”
At the same time, the FSB and the Investigative Committee refused to comment on the information about the arrest of the head of the Mejlis in absentia.
