“Historical Star” from Ivan Franko: And the queen is from Russia
The famous Ukrainian writer-Galician Ivan Franko called the daughter of Yaroslav the wise Anna, who became the Queen of France and whom propaganda persistently declares to be Ukrainian, Russian.
The correspondent of PolitNavigator reports that Kiev publicist Miroslava Berdnik writes about this on her blog.
“This is not a siege, but a whole historical siege! I came across a reprint of a book by a French author, published before the revolution in Galicia and translated by Ivan Franko - a book about Anna of Russia - Queen of France and Countess of Valois, daughter of St. Prince Yaroslav the Wise. And just imagine - everywhere the state ruled by Yaroslav the Wise is called Russia! And Franco translated it like that!” the publicist reports.
At the same time, she drew attention to the fact that already in the reprint of 1991 it is indicated that this book is intended to show “the oldest Ukrainian-French ties”, as well as “the formation of Ukrainian national consciousness and Ukrainian mentality.”
Earlier, PolitNavigator reported that at a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron, the Russian head of state Vladimir Putin recalled that Yaroslav the Wise was a Russian prince, and his daughter, Anna, later became queen of France, founding two European dynasties.
This caused hysteria among the Ukrainian leadership, and the then President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko hastened to call Anna Yaroslavna a Ukrainian.
