Simferopol, October 20 (PolitNavigator, Maxim Karpenko) – Active development of the historical part of Bakhchisarai with restaurants, cafes and small shops spoils the cultural value of this city. Honored Architect of Crimea Valery Borisov stated this on the air of the talk show “People's Verdict”.

According to him, in Bakhchisarai there is the only historical and cultural complex of the Golden Horde period in Crimea and a host of other monuments, the surroundings of which are subject to tasteless development.
“The saddest thing is that the architectural environment of historical monuments is being destroyed. For example, a lot of new buildings have appeared near the Khan’s Palace, including restaurants, cafes, and so on, which in scale and architecture do not correspond to the historical environment in which the Khan’s Palace was located,” Borisov noted.
According to him, the adoption of the city general plan and development plan, which are being developed by the curator of the region - the Republic of Tatarstan, will help correct this situation.
“Now this issue will be somehow resolved, the Bakhchisaray historical and cultural reserve will be reorganized. I think that both Tatarstan and the central government will help,” added the architect.
