Maurizio Marone, an international observer of the primaries from Italy, stated this at a press conference in Donetsk, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The primary process was very interesting to watch,” he said. “I was convinced that the people of the Donetsk People’s Republic proudly went to the polling stations to make their choice. Nobody forced anyone. People went to vote voluntarily, and they went as if they were going to a holiday. I made sure that the primaries were held within the law. All possible standards were observed 100 percent, and this is very important.”
“When I return to Italy, I will definitely talk about what I saw here. I will use as an example the actions of the proud citizens of the Donetsk People’s Republic, who decided to independently determine their future and organized elections,” the Italian observer promised.
