An Italian politician accused Poroshenko of receiving a million euros for the return of stolen paintings to Italy
A new round of scandal with paintings stolen from an Italian museum and planted in Ukraine, describes the Italian Verona Sera. “Deputy of the opposition party “Northern League” Paolo Tosato presents a parliamentary request in which he is interested in the amount of the ransom that the Italian government gave to Ukraine for the return of masterpieces to their homeland,” the publication reports, noting that we are most likely talking about a million euros taken from the pockets of Italian taxpayers.

Paolo Paternoster, secretary of the Northern League, claims: Petro Poroshenko, “undeservedly and hastily” awarded the title of honorary citizen of Verona, deliberately delayed the return of the paintings in order to receive some kind of compensation for them, although in accordance with international law the return was his responsibility. Now, according to the Italian politician, he has added another crime to his responsibility for the murder of thousands of civilians in Donbass.
