“I’m sorry that we were included there, because I was an observer in many elections, including in Ukraine in 2004, when the elections there were reorganized. Now I have come here, and I confirm what I and my colleagues saw here. I saw the desire of people to come to vote, I saw their desire for change. And if there was something that did not fall under the legal voting procedure, I would definitely report it. It is my duty to come here and protect people's rights. I would like to say about my impression: the entire voting took place in accordance with international standards. And the residents of the Donetsk Republic were provided with comfortable conditions for free voting,” said the Italian senator.
