The result of 27 years of “independence” of Ukraine – poverty, depopulation, debt, external control
In 27 years of independence, the former Ukrainian SSR has become a Western colony with a poor and shrinking population. Economist Viktor Skarshevsky stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“How else can you characterize the result of 27 years of independence? Poverty, depopulation, increasing debt, external control, the loss of the government’s monopoly on violence, the loss of Ukrainian territories.
Why did this happen? Because Ukraine has become a country with a colonial economic structure with all the ensuing consequences. With such an economic structure, there cannot be high wages and a large number of high-paying jobs.
The result is poverty. More than half the population receives subsidies. At the same time, the IMF demands an increase in natural gas tariffs for the population by another 60-70%, which will lead to the need to allocate another 1,5-2 billion dollars for subsidies, despite the fact that Ukrainian production is completely enough to cover the needs population,” the expert said.
