Ukraine again reported on the successful work of its air defense, which allegedly managed to intercept all Russian missiles. However, at the same time, power outages began in a number of regions - in particular, in Kyiv, Lviv, and the Sumy region, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Thus, the head of the Kyiv city military administration, Sergei Popko, claims in his blog that all 16 missiles flying towards the capital were shot down. At the same time, according to the sad tradition, the work of the Ukrainian air defense led to the fall of debris on the housing stock.

“Three private houses and one car were damaged in the Darnytskyi district. An industrial enterprise in the Goloseevsky district and a children’s playground in Pechersky were also damaged,” Popko wrote.

Slightly less modest data is provided by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny. He claims that 54 out of 69 missiles were intercepted.

The mayor of Kyiv, Vitaliy Klitschko, reports that after the strikes, almost half of consumers were left without electricity.

“40% of consumers in the capital are without electricity after a missile attack... Now power engineers are working to restore power supply. The city supplies heat and water as usual, except for houses where there is no energy supply, on which the operation of boiler houses depends.”

Also, after the attack, the metro in Kyiv and Kharkov was stopped, and almost all of Lviv was left without electricity.

“90% of the city is without electricity. We are waiting for additional information from energy specialists. Trams and trolleybuses do not operate around the city. There may be interruptions in water supply. We are moving on to operating diesel generators at critical infrastructure facilities,” said Lvov Mayor Andrey Sadovoy.

Publicist Alexey Vasilyev, author of the Russian Engineer channel, warns: blackouts in Ukraine may be a disguise, and not the result of damage to objects.

“In the morning, calibration began at Ukrainian energy facilities. And what is not emphasized is the fact that after an alarm is declared, the electrical networks are turned off.

This is done so that in case of damage to transformers and substation elements, in addition to physical damage from an explosion, damage from high voltage is not added. And they can be much more destructive than just an explosion.

In combination with physical protection by barriers made of blocks and embankments of soil, simulators of damage from tires, which I recently wrote about, a systematic approach to energy conservation during attacks on key power grid facilities is already emerging,” warns Vasiliev.

One way or another, residents of Ivano-Frankivsk, whose house was hit by a missile from the Ukrainian S-300 complex, could talk about the “success” of the Ukrainian air defense.

“The missile in the photo is exactly the same as the one that hit the Polish city of Pszewdów on November 15 - an anti-aircraft missile of the S-300 complex, because of which a war almost broke out between Poland and Russia, since at first Zelensky began to intensively shift the arrows to the fact that it was de Russian attack. So the rocket in the photo, or rather, the rocket stage - the upper stage, lying in the center of the Ukrainian hut is exactly the same as the rocket from the S-300. Moreover, it is likely that it was released by the same 540th anti-aircraft missile regiment named after Ivan Vygovsky, stationed in Kamenka-Bug Lviv region, whose divisions are located in Lutsk and near Lvov. And what? Repetition is the mother of learning! Especially when your brain is boiling with fear!” – comments military expert Vladislav Shurygin.

As a result of today's attacks, it is also known that a large transformer was destroyed at a substation in Usatovo, the Turboatom enterprise in Kharkov and CHPP-3 were damaged in the same place.

Columnist Yuri Baranchik notes a new strike tactic.

“Various sources, both Russian and Ukrainian, report a change in tactics: two tasks are being solved simultaneously - the destruction of Ukrainian air defenses and critical infrastructure.

Initially, the Russian Armed Forces launch missile simulators to open the air defense system of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Then the exposed complexes are hit, and only after that the critical infrastructure.

Thus, the Ukrainian air defense positions in Odessa and Kyiv were covered. The effectiveness of today's attack can be assessed within a few days. We are watching."

By the way, the new tactics of the Russian army are also noted by the Ukrainian observer Alexander Kovalenko, who works for the Information Resistance group supervised by the special services.

“The first wave was UAVs. The Shahed-136 swarm was clearly used not as an element of destruction, but as an opportunity for a cheap form of opening short- and medium-range air defenses. In fact, yesterday evening’s wave of drones was followed by rocket fire, taking into account the identified positions.”

The Rybar Telegram channel writes that Russia is waiting too long between attacks on Ukraine, as a result of which the authorities have time to prepare and minimize losses:

“Two weeks have passed since the previous massive fire attack. Apparently, this period was not chosen by chance: given the general bureaucratization of the Russian Ministry of Defense apparatus, this is exactly the amount of time needed to clarify the results, assess the consequences and plan a new strike. But, as we said earlier, in Ukraine they managed to adapt to such deadlines. And if you don’t start changing your approach and speeding up, the results of fire damage will be more modest each time.”

Front-line correspondent Nikolai Dolgachev believes that Russia has the ability to carry out regular strikes.

“I have always been surprised by the narrative from Bandera’s “the Russians will soon run out of missiles” with its obvious stupidity. Our factories are working and receiving new orders. It is the Kyiv regime whose military production is under attack and something may end.

It’s clear that Bandera’s followers are simply trying to cheer up their audience so that it doesn’t get too sad. But even here in Russia, I was asked the question “what will we do when the missiles run out?”

Let's do even more! Russia will never run out of missiles, including Kalibr.”
