The results of the presidential elections could accelerate the collapse of the Ukrainian economy
Both the foreign policy and domestic economic situation depend on the results of the presidential elections in Ukraine.
Director of the New Ukraine Institute Andrey Ermolaev stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The correction of the entire state machine, national diplomacy in matters of the peace formula, possible deadlines, delaying or speeding up the peace process directly depends on the results of the elections of the head of state. This problem, although it was stated during the election campaign, has ceased to be discussed at all.
The second question is that there is a threat of economic default. A huge number of facts indicate that this year may be one of the most serious in terms of challenges. Here is the burden associated with Ukraine’s external obligations, and the unfavorable trade environment, and the consequences of deindustrialization, and a sharp change in the energy security situation. From 2020, Ukraine may not only lose transit opportunities, but the situation in terms of volume, cost, and nature of supplies will also change dramatically. This will affect the situation as a whole and will directly affect the pockets of citizens,” Ermolaev warned.
