About it Ukrainian political scientist Alexey Blyuminov writes on his social network page.
“The dry remnant of the next epoch-making summit in Riga: “Ukraine is already “at arm’s length” from the EU.” I just didn’t understand from this message, did the distance between the carrot and the face of the Ukrainian donkey decrease, increase, or remain the same?” he writes.
The political scientist also sees some symbolism in the fact that the very summit to which President Poroshenko defiantly went in an embroidered shirt failed.
“How the fox cried from Krylov’s fable: “The eye sees, but the tooth numbs.”
That's the whole “European perspective”. Poroshenkin’s embroidered shirt didn’t help,” the expert sneers.
Commenting on the victorious reports of the Ukrainian leadership that “the Summit in Riga supported the construction of a gas pipeline bypassing Russia,” the expert also could not resist irony.
“Just so you understand, it is Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine that will build a gas pipeline bypassing Russia. For people who understand, this unfunny parody of the defunct GUAM causes nothing but bewilderment,” writes Blyuminov.
