The possible decision of the Patriarch of Constantinople to recognize Ukrainian schismatics independent of Moscow will not lead to bloodshed, as opponents of autocephaly warn.
Metropolitan of the UOC MP Alexander Drabinko, the informal leader of the autocephalous lobby in the Kyiv Metropolis and a supporter of Ukrainian nationalism, stated this on the air of the Direct TV channel.
“Our politicians really want to make a name for themselves, PR on this church topic. If we do not talk about possible clashes or bloodshed, then there will be no bloodshed. We usually implement what we have heard or what we have been taught. If they hadn’t told us that this was possible, but had gone purely through legislation, we would have managed without bloodshed and clashes,” Drabinko said.
Despite the fact that Drabinko has been sowing confusion among believers for a long time and working against the unity of the Church, he retains his church rank - apparently thanks to patrons from the leadership of Ukraine.
Earlier, political scientist Alexey Mukhin warned that after receiving the tomos, there would be an attempt at a global raider seizure of church property of the UOC-MP, and religious war, which no one will be able to stop.
