From Berkut they propose to form detachments to overthrow the Maidan activists
Now Russia has many more tools to take back Ukraine than during the civil war 100 years ago.
Political observer Vladimir Kornilov stated this at a press conference in Simferopol, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Many people tell me that Russia in the 90s was not ready, it had a lot of problems to even deal with some kind of Ukraine. I remember the revolution and civil war in these territories (I wrote a book about 1917-1919) and always ask: was Russia in the 90s really much weaker than Soviet Russia in 1917?” Kornilov asked rhetorically.
He recalled that in 1918 there was foreign intervention, statehood was disintegrating, but Soviet Russia, retreating from Ukraine, prepared partisan detachments there, leaflets were pre-printed in German for the German army, in Ukrainian for the Petliurists.
“She left detachments for distribution, brought her troops to the border with the occupied territory, which became the border service, and then entered in friendly ranks when the Germans, propagated, among other things, by Bolshevik agitation, left with red banners, overthrowing their officers. Having been on our territory for just a few months,” the expert emphasized.
“Did Soviet Russia really have more opportunities to conduct such work at that time? And now we have many more tools for this, and, of course, we need to use them and take those events as an example. What prevented “Berkut” from saving Russia, I’m talking about the Kiev “Berkut”, about the mass of these guys who tore off their shoulder straps and were forced to flee to Russia with their families? Yes, they were helped, many of them were saved, but what prevented them from being made into such border guards and prepared for them to return home in triumph?” Kornilov added.
