1 billion hryvnia was allocated from the Ukrainian budget for film propaganda
Almost one billion hryvnia was allocated for the development of Ukrainian film production in 2018, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was stated by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko during the ceremony of presenting the National Taras Shevchenko Award, the presidential press service reports.
“We can talk with hope about the restoration of national cinema. Finally this happened, because it is being revived in the Ukrainian language. Last year, with government support, the shooting of 47 films of various genres was completed. This year, almost a billion hryvnia has been allocated for film production. This is twice as much as a year earlier,” Poroshenko said.
In November last year, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine supported in the second reading bill No. 3238-d “On amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine regarding state support for cinematography in Ukraine.” After several unsuccessful attempts, 228 parliamentarians voted for the document.
