According to his estimates, in the Debaltsevo area alone, the mission still has to remove about 100-150 bodies, and about 200 more bodies we have to find and evacuate in the territory of military clashes in August-September 2014 on the territory of the LPR.

Only in the area of Donetsk airport, Avdeevka, Peski village and also Debaltsevo, Uglegorsk, Chernukhino, village. Redkodub, Sanzharovka village and their environs, 195 bodies were discovered and removed.

Answering a journalist’s question about the reasons for the discrepancies between these figures and the number of losses of 6 military personnel announced by President Petro Poroshenko during the exit from the Debaltsevo cauldron, the head of the civil-military cooperation project of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Colonel Alexey Nozdrachev said that the “Black Tulip” data relate to losses during a long period of time, and so far the exact number of Ukrainian Armed Forces losses in the Debaltseve area is unknown.

“This information is currently being clarified. Analysis of the information will take a week or two, after which we will receive the figures for the operation in Debaltseve,” he said.

The humanitarian mission “Evacuation 200” (“Black Tulip”) is a volunteer project of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the National Military History Museum of Ukraine and the NGO “People’s Memory”. The mission began work on September 3, 2014, with about 120 volunteers and employees of the NGO “People’s Memory” taking part in it. And partner organizations. To date, the mission has examined about 50 settlements in the ATO zone.
