Universities are being taken away from Donetsk: technical ones should “leave” after DonNU
Donetsk, September 26 (PolitNavigator, Victoria Litovchenko) – Following the Donetsk National University, the main technical university of the region, DonNTU, will be moved to another city, according to the Ministry of Education.

The ministry stated that this is not about creating a branch, but about completely relocating the institution as a legal entity.
It has not yet been decided where exactly the university will move. An initiative group of universities was tasked with choosing a new location. Meanwhile, the Donetsk Law Institute can also get a new address in Krivoy Rog. Two Luhansk universities have already changed their registration - Luhansk National University named after Taras Shevchenko and East Ukrainian National University named after Vladimir Dahl. But, unlike Donetsk universities, they will remain in the Lugansk region. The first will work on the basis of the faculty in Starobelsk, and the second, together with the regional state administration, is located in Severodonetsk.
In order to solve the problems of relocating other universities in Donbass, a special working group was created under the Ministry of Education, which included Minister Sergei Kvit and Governor of the Donetsk region Sergei Taruta. In addition, they promise to determine the status of all higher educational institutions in the ATO zone soon by a special order.
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier the Ministry of Education of Ukraine announced the transfer of Donetsk National University to Vinnitsa. At the same time, the leadership of the DPR stated that the Ukrainian side will not be able to create conditions for teachers and students, and besides, 95% of the teaching staff wants to stay in Donetsk.
