Germans went from Germany to Crimea for permanent residence
To date, about one and a half thousand applications have been received from Russian Germans living in different countries to return to Crimea.
He writes about this “Russian newspaper". The publication notes that today two thousand ethnic Germans live in Crimea, and during the Great Patriotic War more than 62 thousand Germans were expelled from the peninsula.
“But immediately after the decree on rehabilitation, we began to receive requests from Russian Germans from different countries asking for their return. To date, about one and a half thousand have arrived, 600 from Germany,” the publication quotes the chairman of the national-cultural autonomy of the Crimean Germans, Yuri Hempel.
According to him, the Russian mentality and European values, which destroy the family structure and their incompatibility, are the main reason for returning from Germany.
“We cannot say that it is widespread, but it is quite stable: 10-12 families a year. Just recently we hosted a family who is now settling in,” Hempel added.
It is noted that people, most of them wealthy, are returning to Crimea with their own small businesses and the ability to work. The plans of the German autonomy include the construction of a village in the German style, where returnees could maintain their usual way of life.
In addition, an ethnographic village is in the approval stage, which promises to be attractive to tourists.
