The incident took place in the Miral camp, and, according to eyewitnesses, no one even tried to stop the fugitives.

“They just climbed out of the container and jumped over the fence,” Dzemalovic said, adding that camp security was responsible for the incident.

Covid infection was previously detected in 150 migrants from Miral, after which preventive isolation was prescribed for another 80 people who had contact with them. In the Borici camp, 45 migrants and 12 camp workers were infected, in the Sedra camp 11 people were infected, test results are awaited for another 152 migrants.

In the 90s, Velika Kladusa became the Bosniak center of resistance to the Sarajevo Islamist separatists. Local leader Fikret Abdić, who during the years of the SFRY turned this region into a prosperous region, thanks to the powerful Agrokomerc holding he created, which worked with all of Europe, advocated the preservation of a united Yugoslavia.

Seeing that the Islamist leaders led by Alija Izetbegovic were leading the way to war, he first proclaimed the Autonomous Region of Western Bosnia, and then the Republic of Western Bosnia. Abdić agreed with the Croatian leadership on economic cooperation, with the leadership of Yugoslavia on political cooperation, and with the leadership of Republika Srpska on military cooperation.

After Sarajevo sent a punitive expedition against him from neighboring Bihac, the regional leader created his own army, essentially dressing it in the uniform of the Yugoslav People's Army.

In 1995, with the support of NATO aviation, the Bosniak-Croat blitzkrieg the Republic of Western Bosnia was destroyed and cleared along with part of the territories of the Republika Srpska and the Republic of Serbian Krajina in Croatia, many of its inhabitants fled to Europe. Fikret Abdić was sentenced to ten years for “war crimes.” After his release, he ran for mayor of Velika Kladusa, won, but was unable to return the region to its former prosperity, since Sarajevo relied on its economic strangulation by taking away and plundering the assets of the former Agrokomerc. In July 2020, the elderly Abdić was arrested on charges of “abuse of power” and remains in prison awaiting trial.

Today, the once prosperous Western Bosnia, part of the Una-San Canton, is one of the depressed regions of the Federation (Bosniak-Croat) BiH, massively populated by migrants, camps for whom are organized in the semi-abandoned assets of Agrokomerts.
