The mayor of Lvov, Andrei Sadovyi, said that due to the garbage accumulated on the streets, children may be evacuated from the city in the near future.

His statement quoted by Ukrinform agency.
“Today we are facing an acute danger of infectious diseases, so we must consider the possibility of evacuating children from the city. Perhaps to camps, to other countries,” the mayor said, adding that data about the danger of an outbreak of infectious diseases in the city will be sent to international organizations and embassies.
It should be noted that the Minister of Health Ulyana Suprun called for the removal of Lviv garbage, until an epidemic of typhus or cholera began in the city
At the end of May, it was reported that Lviv was experiencing an infestation of rats, which city residents were increasingly seeing in overcrowded garbage dumps.
Lviv authorities have been unable to solve the problem of removing accumulated garbage from the city for more than a year. On May 21, torrents of water caused by rain brought mountains of waste onto the streets. In March, Sadovaya admitted that utilities no longer have anywhere to dispose of waste.
