Of the billions allocated by the Rada to strengthen the army, not a penny has been received - deputy
Kyiv, March 27 (Navigator, Evgeniy Andreev) – Of the 6,8 billion UAH allocated by the Verkhovna Rada for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, not a penny was received by the military department, although this amount is not enough to rearm the army.
People's Deputy Yuriy Sirotyuk stated this on the air of the Kyiv Channel 5.

“We need to raise an army. Today we must understand that 5 percent of GDP should be allocated to the armament of the army. Of the 6 billion UAH that the Verkhovna Rada allocated to the Armed Forces and border guards, not a single penny has yet been received. There are problems - money needs to be taken from somewhere. There is the State Budget, there is the Treasury, there are taxes that were taken a hundred years in advance by Yanukovych, there are external loans that have not yet arrived,” the people’s deputy noted.
“This is a big problem, but, unfortunately, out of these billions, let’s not deceive our society, there is no money for rearmament and modernization. There is money for mobilization, there is money for upgrading existing weapons, there is money for the purchase of batteries for tanks that were not there, but in fact, much more money is needed to rearm the Ukrainian army. I believe that we need to tighten our belts and allocate at least 3% of GDP to the needs of the army within 5 years,” Yuri Sirotyuk emphasized.
