“The Russian special services, for their consent, offered to resolve the issue of privatizing the diplomat’s property in the temporarily annexed Crimea and facilitate the transportation of the family to Russia. They threatened, in case of refusal, to create conditions for the mobilization of the son into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with his subsequent dispatch to the area of the anti-terrorist operation. The SBU inspection ruled out that the Russian intelligence service had such a possibility,” the statement said.
Now, according to the SBU, the diplomat was taken from Moscow to Ukraine and the safety of his family was ensured: “The diplomat, after instructions from Ukrainian counterintelligence, refused further contacts and discussions on the proposed “cooperation.” Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine provided protection to the family of the encryption department employee and organized his return to his homeland.”
