Shkiryak himself stated this in his speech during the television debate on “First National”.
“Today I announce that I am stopping participation in the presidential campaign and asking that my name not be taken into account on the ballot,” Shkiryak said.
However, according to him, he did not have time to submit the appropriate document to withdraw his candidacy from the elections.
He noted that he remains in politics and is ready “to help the prime minister, the future president, the authorities, if my knowledge and experience are useful.”
“Now I will go to the East of Ukraine again, but as a public figure,” Shkiryak said.
As Navigator reported, in early May the Central Election Commission deregistered candidates Oleg Tsarev and Natalya Korolevskaya. Tsarev said that these elections, called by the “invalid Kyiv government, will actually be a confirmation of its legitimacy.” Royal also asked the Central Electoral Commission to remove it from registration because “the people in the south-east of the country need it” and “wants to be closer to them.”
