Because of harmless comics by a Luhansk author, the editorial office was destroyed in Kyiv
The radical part of Ukrainian society is not in the mood for reconciliation and does not accept anti-war rhetoric. The former chief editor of the Vesti holding, Igor Guzhva, said this on TV Channel 17, according to whom, media outlets that published articles on anti-war topics were automatically registered as “agents of the Kremlin.”

“At the end of June 2014, we published wonderful anti-war comics by a Lugansk artist, where she showed how everything developed and led to a fratricidal massacre,” said Guzhva. “The day after we published these comics, a rally of radicals gathered near our editorial office, who shouted that the Vesti newspaper was Putin’s propaganda, and a week later they completely destroyed our editorial office. The publication of these cartoons was perceived by the radical public and many of our colleagues, who perceived this war not as fratricidal, but the war for the independence of Ukraine, as a moral demobilization of the masses.”
