According to him, due to hostilities and the lack of proper control along the perimeter of the DPR, there is a radiation hazard and the threat of destruction of structures and power plants.
“You can count more than a dozen points along the perimeter of the Donetsk People’s Republic where there is a potential danger. This is a radiation hazard, a problem with waste, a hydrodynamic hazard in some areas, the danger of destruction of structures and power plants,” Safonov said.
