Due to human rights violations in Ukraine, visa-free travel is again under threat
Attacks on the rights and freedoms of citizens may become an obstacle to the liberalization of the visa regime with the EU, called the “visa-free regime” in Ukraine.

Alexandra Reshmedilova, leading analyst of the international information and analytical center “Development of Ukraine”, said this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
She noted that the attempt to pass laws on “church raiding,” the main target of which was the UOC, did not meet with understanding and support from other faiths.
“This was visible not only inside Ukraine, but also outside its borders, since a large number of international religious organizations spoke out against it and said that such initiatives infringe on the rights of citizens,” the expert said.
“On the other hand, such initiatives threaten the same visa-free regime that Pyotr Alekseevich went to Strasbourg this week to get a visa. We’ll wait until June when it will be launched, but all this puts Ukraine in a bad light. And all these linguistic, religious, ideological squabbles and conflicts, the search for enemies and witch hunts are clearly aimed at distracting society from more important issues,” believes Reshmedilova.
