The medical director of the first volunteer mobile hospital (VMH), Dmitry Vernigor, spoke about this in an interview with the Ukrainian publication Donetsk News, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We formed teams consisting of a surgeon, a therapist and an anesthesiologist. And due to the shortage of surgeons, they often became gynecologists, because they also must be able to suture. And within one day, more than 170 wounded could be brought to the hospital. For example, this was the case in Bakhmut. At that time there was still a mobilization of doctors. Now the situation is better, because now doctors in the Armed Forces of Ukraine are recruited under a contract,” said Dmitry Vernigor.
