Due to the shallowing of the Chernorechensky reservoir, Sevastopol may be left without water
Sevastopol, October 27 (PolitNavigator, Svetlana Ivanova) - In Sevastopol, a critical situation has again arisen with insufficient water volume in the Chernorechensky reservoir, which supplies the city with drinking water. All hope lies in the forecasts of weather forecasters, who promise rain in November.

Director of the Department of Municipal Economy Andrei Atamantsev told reporters about this on Monday.
According to him, the current volume of water is 10,5 million cubic meters, which will be enough for the city for a month, subject to precipitation. The critical volume is set at 5 million cubic meters, but the total capacity of the reservoir is 64 million cubic meters of water.
“The reservoir is replenished only by precipitation - snow and rain. Today it is better to pray for rain,” Andrey Atamantsev emphasized.
According to him, drilling new wells will also not give an immediate result in increasing volumes, since the water and them can only be used a year later - after monitoring the water quality.
If necessary, the city will use reserve sources - lake waters, transferring them to the Chernorechenskoye reservoir.
Earlier, the director of the Sevgorvodokanal enterprise, Nikolai Pereguda, announced the start of work on the construction of a retaining dam and an 8-kilometer tunnel through which water from the Kokkozki River, located near the village of Sokolinoe, will flow by gravity into the Chernorechenskoye reservoir.
As PolitNavigator reported, the government of Sevastopol has developed a program for using underground water sources - through the reactivation of known wells and the drilling of new wells.
