Due to the cancellation of preferential conditions for the import of goods from Ukraine, store shelves in Crimea are empty
Sevastopol, January 08 (PolitNavigator, Alexander Kononov) – Russian border guards and customs officers even before January 1, when the special period of access for Ukrainian goods to Crimea ended, began to create obstacles to the delivery of goods to the peninsula.
Businessmen involved in food supplies to Crimea and Sevastopol told PolitNavigator about this.

According to them, now supplies of products from Ukraine are blocked at customs, and grocery stores on the peninsula are rapidly emptying.
Truck drivers say that the problems began even before the new year - it seemed that the work of customs on the Russian side was deliberately delayed - “a smoke break, then a lunch, then a shift change.”
So, at the end of December, vans stood at the border for two days - they were not allowed through without explanation. On January 1, the rules on customs clearance of 4 euros per kilogram of cargo came into force.
Some truckers, after standing in lines, turned their trucks around and drove back to Ukraine, others, in order to be in time for the holidays with their families, left their cars with goods right at the border.
Businessmen say that supplies to Crimea are now becoming unprofitable - both Ukrainian and Russian customs officers need to pay.
Some businessmen have already decided to refuse to work with the peninsula.
“You yourself understand what it’s like for a truck with food to stand at the border for two weeks. Those. The situation is generally somewhat incomprehensible. With whose knowledge is all this being done, and why is it being done? Maybe to stir up discontent in Crimea? Because of this, prices are rising very much. There is a shortage of certain groups of goods, especially after the New Year, some shelves in supermarkets have become completely empty,” the entrepreneur complains in a conversation with a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to the agency's interlocutor, the food problem follows the problems with water and electricity, and is in many ways similar to them. Also, as in the first two cases, there was an illusion of complete control over the situation on the part of the local authorities and was replicated in all the media. But as a result, it turned out that in fact we are talking about complete dependence on Ukraine.
“This again plays into the hands, roughly speaking, of the enemies. This causes great excitement in Ukraine that Crimea is without electricity, without water, and now also without food. Well, who benefits from it? It is clear that not the Crimeans and not Russia. In any case, we will have to get food from Ukraine, because the crossing cannot cope with this.
But, again, everything depends on our power. Those. Ukraine is ready to sell because it is profit, it is business, but our authorities put up such obstacles. I think that if the government of Crimea and Sevastopol appealed to the government in order to extend this period during which products can be supplied to Crimea on special grounds, explaining the situation, then everything would be fine,” the entrepreneur concluded.
