Thus, bonuses for special character and special working conditions, which in total amount to 30% of the salary, were abolished for Lviv doctors from July 1.
“On August 18.08, an order was issued for the enterprise that from August 1.08, that is, retroactively, an additional payment of 15% for a special nature, 15% for special conditions will be withdrawn. That is, a total of 30%,” shares the head of the free trade union of the ambulance station, Konstantin Voitovich.
The Lviv Regional State Administration explains that the measure is forced and is intended to put pressure on Kyiv so that city officials allocate more money to the region.
“The situation with ensuring wages is truly critical. Otherwise we would not have taken such unprecedented steps. There is a salary deficit of 10 million at the station. This removal of premiums is a saving of two million. And, in fact, these steps are necessary in order to appeal to Kyiv that we have exhausted our resources, help us financially,” said Bogdan Chechotka, head of the health department of the Lviv region.
At the same time, doctors are threatening that if the situation does not clear up by September 8, they will go on strike.
“I have 12 years of experience, almost all the allowances except category. I receive about 4 thousand in my hands. And now more than a thousand have been withdrawn. No matter how anyone likes it, there is such a thing as an Italian strike. We'll probably do it. Our delays when calling for shift changes are already about two hours, so we will sympathize with the patients, but I don’t see any other option,” said emergency doctor Stepan Zheleznyak.
